Puerto Rico Advances to Quarterfinals in Under-17 Basketball World Cup

Puerto Rico's national under-17 basketball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Turkey after defeating Costa de Marfil 101-85 in the round of 16. The team, led by coach Landy Pantojas, will face the United States in the quarterfinals on Friday in Istanbul.

Dwight Gaines led the team with 36 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds, while Eduyn Albino scored 18 points, Luis Rosado scored 11, and Jeremy Wilmore scored 10. Puerto Rico finished second in Group C with a 3-1 record.

Nathan Djako led Costa de Marfil with 21 points. The win secures Puerto Rico's place among the top eight teams in the tournament.
