The Human Identification Unit (UIH) of the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) confirmed the identity of a man found decomposed in a residence in the La Pica sector, Calabaza neighborhood, Yabucoa. The case corresponds to a discovery reported on June 18 in the same municipality, when the body was found inside a home after a 9-1-1 emergency alert.
The UIH identified the deceased as Dionicio Mojica Montañez, 50, through analysis and comparison of body radiographs. According to established protocols, authorized family members were notified of the results of the forensic analysis.
Officials from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) in Humacao, along with the on-duty prosecutor, took charge of the investigation.
