The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) announced that it will carry out operational work between July 7 and 12, which will leave multiple municipalities in the metropolitan, north, and south regions with intermittent or interrupted potable water service. The work will start on Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. with the washing of sedimentators at the Hatillo-Camuy Filter Plant and may extend until around 6:00 p.m. Clients in sectors of Hatillo and Camuy may experience low pressure or temporary interruptions in the potable water service.

On the same day, new pipes will be installed at the Paso Seco (Booster) pumping station in Santa Isabel from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next day, which is the period of lowest consumption. During this period, communities in sectors of Santa Isabel and Coamo may experience temporary interruptions in the service. The AAA will also take advantage of electrical work by LUMA Energy at the Carraízo reservoir to carry out operational maintenance at that facility and at the Sergio Cuevas Filter Plant in Trujillo Alto.

On Wednesday, the AAA will install a new control panel at the Vega Baja 3 well and operational adjustments will be made to maintain service stability in the sectors of Algarrobo, Ojo de Agua, Colombo, Miss Kelly, Camino del Sol, and nearby communities. On Thursday, a pipe interconnection will be made in the distribution system located on PR-685 highway in the Boquillas sector of Manatí, which will result in a temporary interruption of the service for clients of Boquillas and surrounding communities.
