A fatal traffic accident occurred this morning on PR-116 in Guánica, resulting in the deaths of two people. According to preliminary reports from the Highway Patrol Bureau, the emergency call was received at 6:51 a.m. through the 911 Emergency System. The investigation found that the driver of a 2020 white Mitsubishi G4 was passing several vehicles in the opposite lane and collided with a black Toyota Corolla at a curve.
The front passenger of the Mitsubishi died instantly, and the driver was transported to Sabana Grande hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota received initial aid and is in stable condition. Agents from the Ponce Highway Patrol Division, along with the on-duty prosecutor, are handling the investigation.
The accident happened at kilometer 15.4 of the PR-116 road.
