The Capitanes de Arecibo announced the signing of American forward Rashard Kelly for the postseason of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). Kelly, 30, has experience playing in leagues in Italy, Turkey, France, Australia, Russia, and Lithuania. He last played in Japan with the Aomori Watts, averaging 14.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
Kelly has participated in top-level European competitions like the Eurocup and Basketball Champions League. Gaby Miranda, director of operations for the Capitanes, praised Kelly's ability to defend multiple positions, rebound, and bring immediate energy. Kelly played college basketball at Wichita State University in the NCAA.
The Capitanes' first postseason game is on Thursday against the Santeros de Aguada at the Coliseo Manuel 'Petaca' Iguina.
