Starting July 30, Puerto Rico's century-old volleyball history will have a permanent home at the International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with the opening of the "Puerto Rico Volleyball" exhibition. The display will sit at the entrance of the IVHF's 5,000-square-foot building.
Curator and researcher Jimmy Camacho, a Puerto Rican Holyoke resident, said the exhibition "will not end" and will remain permanently in the Hall, thanking IVHF executive director George Mulry and collaborators Manuel Frau and Gaddier Rosario. No Puerto Rican volleyball player has yet been inducted into the Hall, founded in 1987, but the exhibit honors the sport's development on the island, from its arrival via the YMCA to its Olympic and world championship appearances, and highlights figures aspiring to induction, including the late Ricky Amon, Héctor
