The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a lifeless body in a residence in the Monte Brisas urbanization in Fajardo on Thursday night. According to a police report, a call to the police station alerted them to the situation.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the body of an unidentified person in an advanced state of decomposition inside the home. The body will be taken to the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) for autopsy and determination of the cause of death.
Agents from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) in Fajardo, along with the on-duty prosecutor, are in charge of the investigation.
