A man was killed under circumstances now under investigation by police in Caguas. The incident was reported around 8:18 p.m. the previous night on Calle 11 in the Los Muchos sector of the La Barra neighborhood. A call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted police to gunshots in the area.
According to the police report, officers arriving at the scene found a man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds that caused his death instantly. The victim was identified as Felipe Raúl Hernández Ortiz, 36 years old. Agents from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) in Caguas, coordinating with the on-duty prosecutor, took charge of the investigation.
As of this Wednesday, police had reported 298 homicides so far this year, one more than the number recorded on the same date in 2025.
