Senator Juan Óscar Morales stated that the partial Senate report on former Secretary of the Interior Francisco Domenech shows his sworn testimony does not match the sworn statements of former DDEC officials. Morales asked the Department of Justice not to leave the case 'on the shelf.' The report was presented by the Commission on Innovation, Reform, and Appointments, which referred the case to the authorities.
Domenech had claimed to have completely severed ties with clients related to Politank, a firm he owned. However, Morales noted that Domenech did not provide the Senate with documents he had given to the Fiscal Oversight Board regarding Law 82, which regulates pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). Morales responded to Governor Jenniffer González Colón's suggestion that the investigation is due to Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz's animosity towards Domenech, saying that if people want to evaluate the investigation in that way, they are not doing the right thing.
Morales confirmed that the report includes sworn statements and verifiable information and was referred to federal agencies. The former Undersecretary of the Interior, Itza García, is also part of the investigation.
