A 7-month pregnant woman, a 13-year-old teenager, and a driver were injured in a serious accident on PR-149 at the intersection with PR-643 in Manatí. The accident occurred around 11:50 pm on Saturday when a Dodge RAM 1500, driven by 23-year-old Edward J. Rivera Cordero, allegedly ran a red light and collided with a Nissan Rogue driven by Carlos Meléndez Guadalupe, who had the green light.
Meléndez Guadalupe suffered serious injuries, while passenger Gendy Rivera Nevárez, who is 7 months pregnant, and a 13-year-old were also injured. The three were taken to the Centro Médico in Río Piedras by Emergency Medical Services personnel. The condition of the injured was unknown at the time of the report.
Agent Ángel Ocasio Vázquez is in charge of the investigation, along with prosecutor Sánchez Serrano.
