La Guancha Food Park has officially opened in Ponce, marking a new phase in the recovery of the recreational complex. The project, which received an approximate $2 million investment from ARPA funds, aims to revitalize one of Ponce's main recreational, tourist, and cultural spaces. The food park features 16 commercial units, occupied by 16 merchants offering various products and services, including gastronomy, cocktails, beverages, accessories, and toys.
The Municipality of Ponce will provide the merchants with two years of rent and utility exemptions to help reduce operational costs and support business growth. The project includes additional spaces, such as a artisans' pavilion and a activities pavilion, as well as a sports area with two sand courts for beach tennis and volleyball. According to Ponce Mayor Marlese Sifre Rodríguez, the project is a significant step towards the recovery of La Guancha, providing relief to local merchants and promoting economic growth.
The construction of the food park was carried out by Serrallés Construction, in collaboration with architect Ayala Rubio, under the Design-Build modality.
