Puerto Rico Police arrested 43-year-old Pedro O. Vázquez Santo, a resident of Barceloneta, on Sunday afternoon for allegedly mistreating and threatening his 69-year-old mother. The arrest was made by agents from the Intelligence and Arrests Division in Arecibo. Vázquez Santo was wanted on charges of elder abuse and threatening behavior, under Articles 127-A and 127-B of the Penal Code, with a $120,000 bail set by Judge Mirna M. Soliván Plaud of the Arecibo Court.
The alleged incidents occurred on October 2, 2026. Vázquez Santo was taken before Judge Michelle Camacho Nieves and, failing to post bail, was admitted to the Bayamón 705 Correctional Complex. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 19, 2026.
The arrest was carried out by Agent Juan G. Ocasio Feliciano under the supervision of Sergeant Alvin Terrón Colón and the direction of Lieutenant Miguel Pérez Martí.
