A 63-year-old man, Antonio Robles Román, faces charges for threatening to set fire to a residential complex in Manatí after arriving at the administrative office with a gallon of gasoline, a gas tank, and a lighter. On Tuesday, Agent Javier Cortés Acosta, along with Prosecutor Lucianne Sánchez Serrano from the Arecibo Prosecutor’s Office, filed charges against Robles Román for threats, aggravated arson, and possession and use of white weapons.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on October 5, 2026, when Robles Román arrived at the Enrique Zorrilla residential complex in Manatí with the objects and allegedly threatened to set the place on fire. The complainant and residential employees managed to take the items away from him. The evidence was presented to Judge Alba Calderón Cestero of the Arecibo Court, who determined probable cause for arrest and imposed a $150,000 bond.
Robles Román did not post bail and was admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Institution 705 until the preliminary hearing.
