Weeks before he confessed to two killings in Puerto Rico and was later found dead, William Rivera Sánchez filed a handwritten motion on September 28, 2026 asking the San Juan court to order former activist and businessman Félix Plaud de Choudens to pay the remaining $13,500 of a $100,000 settlement reached in a lawsuit alleging fraud. Rivera Sánchez asked that Plaud de Choudens be given seven days to pay.
The settlement, reached in August 2025, included a $20,000 initial payment and monthly payments of $10,000 through April 2026. According to the motion, only the first three payments were made on time, then payments fell a month behind and stopped in February 2026; Plaud de Choudens deposited $7,500 in June 2026 and $4,000 on September 4.
The original lawsuit, filed February 14, 2025 against Plaud de Choudens, his mother and the company Victory Research & Development, sought the return of $100,000 in contributions and damages of no less than $500,000. The San Juan court issued a judgment by stipulation on August 29, 2025. Hours before Plaud de Choudens was killed, Rivera Sánchez’s lawyer filed a motion seeking service by edict on Estrella de Choudens Colón, the mother, a codefendant in a second lawsuit filed June 25, 2026 claiming $161,000 invested in a medical cannabis dispensary project in Cupey; lawyer Luis A. Quiñones González was also a codefendant.
On Friday, Rivera Sánchez posted videos on social media attributing the killings of Quiñones González in Ponce and Plaud de Choudens in Guayama; hours later the 45-year-old was found dead at a residence in Santa Isabel. Police are investigating.
