The Puerto Rico Police Bureau continues investigating the killings of Félix Plaud, a former leader of the New Progressive Party’s youth wing, and criminal defense lawyer Luis Quiñones González, while verifying compliance with a court agreement between Plaud and the main suspect and any other circumstances tied to a possible motive. At a press conference, Superintendent Joseph González identified William Noel Rivera Sánchez, 45, as the main suspect in both killings; Rivera Sánchez claimed the crimes in several videos posted on Facebook, but the superintendent warned those allegations are under examination and should not be interpreted as facts corroborated by police.
Rivera Sánchez was found dead in his apartment in Santa Isabel hours after posting the recordings. The Homicide Divisions of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of Guayama and Ponce are handling the cases. Police identified court documents confirming an economic dispute: in August 2025 both parties reached a judicial agreement recognizing a debt of more than $100,000.
Plaud’s body, with multiple gunshot wounds, was found on a lot at the end of Laporte street in Guayama’s Borinquen neighborhood, after a friend reported him missing. Quiñones González was shot around 10:50 AM on Las Américas avenue in Ponce after leaving court; his wife witnessed the attack, fired toward the attacker and drove him to a hospital, where he died.
In the video, Rivera Sánchez alleged he had invested his savings in two medicinal cannabis dispensaries that never opened and blamed both men.
