The Puerto Rico Tourism Company (CTPR) officially launched the promotional campaign for the Joyuda and Punta Arenas Gastronomic Route in Cabo Rojo, aiming to strengthen internal tourism, boost regional economic development, and highlight the area’s gastronomic, cultural and natural wealth in the island’s southwest. Executive director Willianette Robles Cancel said the route showcases the zone’s extraordinary culinary tradition, coastal landscapes and natural attractions, with the goal of turning the promotion into greater opportunities for merchants and a boost to the economy of Cabo Rojo and nearby communities.
The route integrates 35 food establishments that form part of the culinary identity of Joyuda and Punta Arenas, businesses that contribute to local economic activity through jobs, investment and the effort of small and medium entrepreneurs. The campaign seeks to raise their visibility and stimulate local consumption. Cabo Rojo mayor Jorge A. Morales Wiscovitch said the route has great potential to keep positioning Joyuda and Punta Arenas as gastronomy and tourism reference points in Puerto Rico.
The campaign includes an audiovisual proposal with videos, photographs and promotional content, plus the website rutajoyuda.com, where the public can find the participating establishments.
