Three hooded, armed individuals broke into a home in the Río Arriba sector of Vega Baja on Wednesday night and robbed a man at gunpoint, according to preliminary information from the Puerto Rico Police Bureau. The victim heard his dogs barking and, upon opening his door, saw the three individuals, who had broken the padlock on the balcony gate.
One of the intruders pointed a firearm at him and, through threats and intimidation, forced him to sit in an armchair while they searched the residence. They took $450 in cash and several collectible coins, then left without causing him physical harm. No arrests have been reported in the case.
Officer José Hernández conducted the preliminary investigation and referred it to the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC), which will continue the inquiry. The Police asked anyone with information to help clarify the case to call 787-343-2020.
