Why this matters: Drivers filling 50-liter tanks pay $1.50 more than on Friday, a small but immediate bump in weekly commuting costs across the island.

Regular gasoline in Puerto Rico started Monday, November 2 with pump prices between $1.13 and $1.18 per liter ($4.27–$4.46 a gallon), roughly $1.13 to $1.18, according to the Consumer Affairs Department (DACO). That compares with about $1.10 to $1.15 per liter on Friday, October 30, an increase of nearly three cents per liter at both ends of the range versus the end of last week.

Premium gasoline was listed Monday between $1.27 and $1.39 per liter ($4.80–$5.25 a gallon), about $1.27 to $1.39, up from the $1.24 to $1.35 reported Friday. Diesel stood between $1.47 and $1.53 per liter ($5.55–$5.78 a gallon), about $1.47 to $1.53, versus the prior range of $1.46 to $1.50. For weekly budget planning, DACO’s published prices put 40 liters of regular gasoline at between $45.08 and $47.08, while 50 liters would require setting aside between $56.35 and $58.85. A three-cent-per-liter increase adds $1.50 to a 50-liter purchase.
