Gasoline prices in Puerto Rico remain elevated with no significant drop at the pumps in recent weeks, according to the Consumer Affairs Department (DACO), which published its reference fuel prices for October 30. Regular gasoline should run between $1.10 and $1.15 per liter ($4.16–$4.35 a gallon), premium between $1.24 and $1.35 per liter ($4.69–$5.11 a gallon), and diesel between $1.46 and $1.50 per liter ($5.53–$5.68 a gallon).

DACO notes the prices can change with fluctuations in the international oil market and other factors, including the conflict in the Middle East, which affect the cost of gasoline and diesel. The persistence of high fuel prices comes as electric customers also face a $42.27 monthly increase in their light bills, adding pressure on household expenses.

The American Automobile Association offers several recommendations for reducing gasoline consumption and getting more out of each tank.
