Drivers in Puerto Rico are seeing relief at the pump after prices rose early in the week. According to the Consumer Affairs Department (DACO) update on Thursday, November 5, regular gasoline is priced between $1.05 and $1.09 per liter ($3.96–$4.11 a gallon), about $1.05 to $1.09. On Monday, the published range was $1.13 to $1.18 per liter.
Comparing the two reports, the reduction is eight cents at the lower end and nine cents at the upper end. Premium gasoline is also cheaper than at the start of the week: DACO places it between $1.19 and $1.29 per liter ($4.49–$4.87 a gallon), while diesel is between $1.37 and $1.46 ($5.17–$5.52 a gallon). On Monday, the ranges were $1.27 to $1.39 for premium and $1.47 to $1.53 for diesel.
The difference shows up when filling the tank: buying 50 liters of regular would cost between $52.35 and $54.35 at Thursday’s prices, compared with $56.35 to $58.85 at the start of the week, a saving of between $4 and $4.50 when comparing the ends of both ranges.
