In Puerto Rico, people gathered at Plaza Las Américas on Thursday to bid farewell to Jennifer Barreto, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2026, before she begins her journey to the international Miss Universe stage. The event turned into a celebration of national pride, with fans, families, and followers bringing Puerto Rican flags to show their support.
Jennifer shared a message, especially for girls, about her vision of being a Miss, which she said is more than a crown, a band, or a stage representation. It also means having a purpose, recognizing one’s own value, inspiring others, and understanding that true beauty lies in what we are and what we can give to others.
The folk dance choreographer Raúl de la Paz brought together different folk dance groups to join the farewell, showcasing a sample of Puerto Rico’s identity and roots. Yuvi Plena was in charge of the music. The event was more than a farewell; it was a community gathering and an opportunity to remind Jennifer that when she represents Puerto Rico, she will carry more than just a flag.
The Miss Universe Diamond Edition will take place in Puerto Rico, with the fantasy dress presentation on November 21, the preliminary competition on November 22, and the grand final on November 24 at the Puerto Rico Coliseum, broadcast by Wapa Televisión.
