T-Mobile customers in Puerto Rico reported intermittent mobile service and stretches without signal on Friday, November 6, turning to sites such as Downdetector and social media to flag the problem. By about 6:00 PM, the problem had become a complete loss of signal for customers in parts of the San Juan metropolitan area, including Cupey, Guaynabo and Old San Juan, where phones displayed an "Emergency Calls Only" status.
In a statement sent to El Nuevo Día, T-Mobile confirmed that some of its customers in Puerto Rico may be experiencing service interruptions due to a problem on a third party’s network. At the time of publication, the company had not offered an estimate of when service would be restored or how many customers were affected.
T-Mobile said its teams are working to restore service as soon as possible and apologized for the inconvenience.
