San Juan / Condado

San Juan and Condado make up a stretch of urban surf where La Ocho, Pine Grove and Condado break on the open Atlantic. Winter north swell, typically 3 to 6 feet, drives the waves, so the season runs from November to March. The more sheltered inside spots are where surf schools take first-timers, while the exposed breaks suit surfers who are already comfortable in swell. Outside winter the swell is much less reliable, so the cooler months are the time to plan a session.
