A team of children from Venezuela arrived in Loíza on Saturday to participate in the 2026 Latin American and Caribbean Little League Series. The team was initially scheduled to arrive on Thursday but was delayed due to earthquakes in Venezuela.
Loíza Mayor Julia Nazario Fuentes announced the team's arrival, stating that the event brings together the best young baseball talents in the region. The series will feature teams from 13 countries, including Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela, Guatemala, Chile, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the US Virgin Islands.
The tournament aims to promote values such as discipline, respect, and teamwork. The inaugural ceremony was held on Friday, and the games will take place until July 3 at Loíza's parks and sports facilities.
