Police Seize Drugs and Altered Handgun in Gurabo Raid

Puerto Rico Police officers assigned to the Drug Division conducted an operation on Tuesday at the Luis Del Carmen Echevarría public housing complex in Gurabo. The raid was part of surveillance initiatives launched by Police Superintendent Joseph González in response to recent violent incidents in the Caguas police area.

According to police, agents found a Glock model 19, 9mm pistol allegedly modified to fire automatically, along with three magazines and 67 rounds of ammunition. Also seized were 45 decks of fentanyl, 38 capsules of crack, 25 bags of cocaine, seven bags of marijuana, and $18 in cash.

The findings will be referred to the Caguas District Attorney's Office for further investigation and formal seizure proceedings.
