Pistacho, the dog that attacked Waldemar Quiles Pérez, Secretary of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA), has avoided euthanasia and is currently under quarantine at the San Juan Municipality's Animal Protection and Adoption Center. The municipality is coordinating Pistacho's transfer to the non-profit organization Huellitas de la Montaña, which will assume custody of the dog.
San Juan Mayor Miguel Romero Lugo stated that he never considered euthanasia as an option, emphasizing the municipality's policy of protecting and preserving animal life. The Center's director, Tomás González, reported that Pistacho is under veterinary observation and will be delivered to Huellitas de la Montaña once the quarantine period is completed.
