As of October 14, the National Hurricane Center lists no active systems in the Atlantic basin.
The Atlantic is quiet as of October 14. The National Hurricane Center lists no active systems in the basin, and nothing is moving through Puerto Rico’s corridor or anywhere else. The 7-day outlook shows no areas with a chance of development, so for the coming week there is no tropical threat to plan around, and everyday routines, travel and outdoor plans can go ahead as normal.
We are well past the climatological peak of the season, which falls on September 10, and the basin is winding down in the way it typically does this time of year. That does not mean the season is officially over, since it runs through the end of November, and late-season systems can still form. For now, though, this is a calm stretch. Official guidance comes from the NHC and NWS San Juan, and we will keep watching their updates.
Live tracks, cones and the Puerto Rico prep checklist are on the hurricane hub; the weather page carries the daily tropics line. Official watches and warnings: the National Hurricane Center and NWS San Juan.
