Why this matters: For unemployed and displaced workers in Puerto Rico’s east coast towns, the Ceiba fair offers in-person interviews with private employers plus résumé help on October 29.

A recruitment fair for unemployed people, displaced workers and job seekers will be held on Thursday, October 29, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Centro de Usos Múltiples (Multiuse Center) in Ceiba, on Puerto Rico’s east coast. The event is coordinated by Conexión Laboral Área Local Noreste, through services promoted by the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), and is open to the whole community and neighboring towns.

Organizers say participants will be able to learn about private-sector job opportunities, interview with company representatives and advance their hiring processes on site. The fair also targets people interested in rejoining the labor market or taking the next step in their professional development. Attendees can receive guidance to strengthen their job search and prepare their résumés before meeting recruiters.

Luis A. Cruz Gerena, executive director of Conexión Laboral, said the goal is to bring citizens and employers together and help people identify opportunities matching their abilities and experience. Employers interested in participating can call 787-953-4700, extensions 901 and 904. Attendees are advised to bring documents to facilitate the recruitment processes.
