The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) reported that roughly 22,000 customers remain without potable water service across the metropolitan region and Isabela. AAA Executive Director, engineer Luis González Delgado, told WKAQ-580 that about 11,000 customers in the metro area, mainly in Trujillo Alto and Gurabo, still lack service. In Carolina, pumping systems at Carruzos, Parcelas Campo Rico, and Martín Rodríguez remain out of operation, while in Canóvanas the Arca de Noé and Las 400 stations await recovery of water levels to resume operations.
Line breaks were also reported in the south and east regions, to be addressed during the morning, though González Delgado did not specify which municipalities or how many customers were affected. In Isabela, the filtration plant remains out of operation due to a turbidity event. Regarding Isla Verde, which draws water from both the Superaqueduct and the Sergio Cuevas filtration plant (recently halted for maintenance and valve replacement), González Delgado said AAA is working to balance both systems to restore adequate pressure, noting that Loíza and Piñones are also affected since they are the final branch of that pipeline system.
AAA is coordinating with the Municipality of Loíza to run water-tank trucks to supply affected residents.
