Woman Shot While Driving with Infant in Caguas

A 41-year-old woman was shot late Saturday night in circumstances under investigation by police in Caguas. The incident was reported around 10:40 p.m. near the entrance to the Villa Sauri urbanization on PR-765 in the Borinquén Atravesada neighborhood.

According to a preliminary investigation, the injured woman said that while she was driving through the area with a 20-year-old woman and a one-year-old infant, "someone from a moving vehicle fired several shots." The driver suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and right arm, according to the police report. She was treated at a hospital in the area, but her condition had not been reported at the time.

No one else was reported physically injured. Agents from the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of the Caguas area are in charge of the investigation.
