La Plata: down 11 cm
La Plata kept sliding. This morning’s chart puts it at 41.83 meters, down 11 centimeters from yesterday, in the Adjustments band (Ajustes). The next line on the chart, into the Control band, sits at 40.50 meters, 1.33 meters below this morning’s reading. At this week’s pace that is about 18 days away (at this pace, November 23: a projection, not a forecast; one wet afternoon moves it).
If your water comes from La Plata (Dorado, Guaynabo, Naranjito, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Vega Alta, Bayamón, Cataño, Corozal), this is the reservoir to watch; AAA lists 130,828 client accounts on it.

Outlook
What the numbers say
The week’s pattern across the main reservoirs is a slowdown, not a recovery. Carraízo and La Plata are both still falling, but each is losing ground more slowly than the week before, and Cidra is effectively flat. Carraízo, the largest of the three, is dropping about 1 cm a day, and at that pace its next band line is more than two months away. That is arithmetic, not a forecast, and it says nothing about what the weather will do.
La Plata is the one to watch. It has dropped five mornings in a row and sits in the Adjustments band, with the Control line 1.33 m below. At this week’s rate, which is arithmetic and not a forecast, it would reach that line around November 23. The rain did little to change this: Cidra received 1.56 in this week, yet the morning after its wettest day its level did not move. The scheduled interruptions are paused, so none of these changes can be credited to the rotation.
What to watch
- Carraízo: whether the slowdown holds. A second week under 1.3 cm a day would show the decline easing.
- La Plata: the Control line is inside three weeks at this pace; a band change there would be the next real news.
- La Plata: whether the slowdown holds. A second week under 11.5 cm a day would show the decline easing.
- Naranjito: whether AAA extends its Cedro Arriba plan (the calendar runs through October 31), changes the phase or ends it.
Lake levels
The gauge USGS runs at Carraízo read 40.70 meters at 5:45 AM. The gauge USGS runs at La Plata read 41.82 meters at 5:45 AM. The gauge USGS runs at Cidra read 400.58 meters at 5:45 AM.
The gauges report every quarter hour and their readings are provisional; the bands are measured on AAA’s 5:00 chart.
How we read the data
This is the 77th Daily Water Watch (yesterday’s is here). The levels update every morning on the water page.
Levels: AAA’s daily reservoir chart, November 4. Rain: gauges USGS runs within 12 km of each reservoir. Day counts start August 7, when the metro rotation took effect. Straight-line dates are arithmetic, not forecasts. How we report.
