Cidra is an inland town and municipality in Puerto Rico's central region, about 20 miles from San Juan. It borders Cayey to the south, Comerío and Aguas Buenas to the north, Aibonito and Barranquitas to the west, and Caguas to the east, and is organized into 12 barrios plus Cidra Pueblo, covering roughly 94.42 km².
Founded in 1809, Cidra has grown to a population of about 39,970 as of 2020. It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area, linking it economically and socially to the capital region despite its interior, non-coastal setting.
