Fajardo / Las Croabas

Fajardo, also known as Las Croabas, is a location in northeast Puerto Rico where steady E-NE trade winds create a prime kiteboarding corridor. The area serves as a ferry hub to nearby islands, including Vieques and Culebra.

The NOAA Fajardo gauge provides a key reference point for northeast tide conditions, which are typically microtidal with a range of approximately 0.8 ft. Kiteboarding is a popular activity in the area, with optimal conditions from November to April when the E-NE trades are at their strongest, blowing at 18-28 kt.
