This morning’s 5:00 chart from AAA shows Carraízo flat at 40.75 meters. La Plata is at 42.52 meters, down 12 centimeters from yesterday.
Service today
Day 81 of the metro rotation, the San Juan area’s rationing schedule, with interruptions paused since September 2, and AAA has not canceled it.
AAA’s Cedro Arriba plan in Naranjito is in effect: Zone C and Zone D take turns every 48 hours; Zone D has water until Wednesday at 6:00 AM.
AAA has posted no plan change, open outage or water-quality notice in the last three days.
Every notice AAA posts is on the water page, in its own words.

Outlook
What the numbers say
La Plata is the reservoir to watch this week. It has dropped for five straight mornings and the daily loss is growing, with no rain at its gauges to slow it. Its pace to the Control line is arithmetic at the current rate, not a forecast, and it can shift quickly if the decline eases or rain arrives. Carraízo, by contrast, has moved from a nearly flat week to a slow slide, and its band line is much farther off.
The rain did little for the reservoirs this week. Carraízo got 1.52 in of rain, and the morning after its wettest day the reading rose only 2 cm. Cidra received 2.53 in across its gauges, yet its level barely moved and is effectively flat for the week. Rain that lands around a reservoir is not the same as water reaching it, and soils that have been dry can absorb a lot before runoff arrives. Rationing began 80 days ago and Carraízo remains well above where it started, while La Plata has lost ground since then.
What to watch
- La Plata: rain. With none this week, the decline is pure demand, and the first wet afternoon over the watershed shows up in the next morning’s number.
- Naranjito: whether AAA extends its Cedro Arriba plan (the calendar runs through October 31), changes the phase or ends it.
Lake levels
The gauge USGS runs at Carraízo read 40.75 meters at 5:45 AM. The gauge USGS runs at La Plata read 42.50 meters at 5:45 AM. The gauge USGS runs at Cidra read 400.60 meters at 5:45 AM.
The gauges report every quarter hour and their readings are provisional; the bands are measured on AAA’s 5:00 chart.
How we read the data
This is the 69th Daily Water Watch (yesterday’s is here). The levels update every morning on the water page.
Levels: AAA’s daily reservoir chart, October 26. Rain: gauges USGS runs within 12 km of each reservoir. Day counts start August 7, when the metro rotation took effect. Straight-line dates are arithmetic, not forecasts. How we report.
