Sabana Grande is an inland municipality in western Puerto Rico, situated north of Lajas and Guánica, south of Maricao, east of San Germán, and west of Yauco, about 62 miles from San Juan. The municipality spans roughly 96 km², organized into seven barrios plus the Sabana Grande Pueblo, and is part of the San Germán-Cabo Rojo Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Founded in 1813, the town is home to about 22,729 residents as of 2020. Its landscape includes Pico Fraile, a spot for outdoor activity, while the Teatro Adalberto Rodríguez Machuchal serves as a center for local culture.
