Vega Alta is a town and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, about 15 miles from San Juan, bordered by Morovis and Corozal to the south, Vega Baja to the west, and Dorado to the east. It covers roughly 28 square miles and is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area, with a population of approximately 35,395 as of 2020.

Founded in 1775, Vega Alta is organized into seven barrios plus the barrio-pueblo that serves as its town center. Its coastal setting and location within the greater San Juan metropolitan area link it closely to the capital region while retaining its own municipal identity.
